Oljato Work Party Weekend

Oljato work party photoCamp Oljato Work Weekend

Every year we need help getting the camp ready for summer.

We provide meals and lodging for all volunteers, while volunteers get a weekend in the High Sierras, comradeship, and sense of accomplishment.

Camp needs to be cleaned up—remove downed trees, repair any physical damage from winter (roofs, trails, etc.), snow removal possible.

Important Travel Tip:
When you get to Shaver Lake, call Camp Ranger Don Hartline at (650) 785.2527 or Davey Warner at (650) 524.5080 to let them know you're there. This way they can meet you at the dock to bring you to camp by boat. Shaver Lake is where you'll probably have cell phone coverage.

What to bring:

  • Sleeping bag and pad
  • Toiletries and medications
  • Work gloves
  • Sturdy clothes and shoes that can get dirty/wet. Be able to dress in layers as temperatures vary widely this time of year.
  • Rain gear
  • Water bottle(s)
