Scouting for Food 2013
Each year, the Pacific Skyline Council participates in the Boy Scouts of America's national service project - "Scouting for Food" - collecting upwards of 80,000 lbs. of food in support of peninsula families in need.
In the Discovery District, there are three collection points that serve our local area - Coastside Hope, Half Moon Bay; Pacifica Resource Center, Pacifica; and the Salvation Army Citadel Corps Center, South San Francisco. Scout units are asked to distribute informational door hangers in their local neighborhoods, instructing community members to place non-perishable food items in bags on their doorsteps for collection on Saturday, November 16.
Door hangers will be available for distribution at the District Roundtable on Thursday, October 3. Please contact our District Coordinator, Colm Quinn, for service area assignments. Door hanger drop off day is Saturday, November 9, and Food pick up day is Saturday, November 16. Thank you for your support!
