Scoutreach

The Scoutreach Team continues to promote Scouting to an at-risk and culturally diverse youth population in areas of East Menlo Park, East Palo Alto, Redwood City, Mountain View, Half Moon Bay, Daly City, as well as other locales in the northern San Mateo County. This program represents the Council's strong commitment to serve the community's minority population with traditional Scouting activities that emphasize values, leadership, and character building.

YOU CAN HELP US expand the depth and breadth of this innovative outreach program by becoming a Sponsor, Mentor, or both.

Scoutreach Sponsors
Scoutreach Sponsors donate funds that work toward providing a Scouting program for our disadvantaged youth. Sponsors can be individual donors or whole units. Money is desperately needed to provide registration assistance, uniforms, handbooks, transportation, and camperships for our Scouts.

Scoutreach Mentors
Scoutreach Mentors provide program assistance to our Paraprofessional and Program Aide staff. Mentors demonstrate Scouting skills to eager Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and/or Venturers and help the parents of these boys discover the rewarding experience of being an active adult leader. Mentors can also take the form of Den Chiefs, Commissioners, and guest speakers. If a member of the Order of the Arrow, you can work to receive the Scoutreach Mentor Award as you assist us with our program.

Of course, there are countless other ways you can help out with our Scoutreach program, so please inquire by contacting your local Scouting professional at (650) 327-5900 or henry.reyes@scouting.org if you are interested in giving back to the community while making use of your Scouting skills and experience at the same time!
