This course gives the students the skills, knowledge and attitude to become a shot gun instructor who can teach the basic shotgun shooting program.

Skills learned are how to teach, shooting positions, body positions, shot mechanics, sight picture, parts of a shotgun, ammunition types and uses, Winchester marksmanship program, shooting activities, practical exercises, safe gun handling, cleaning and care of a shotgun, and shooting skills development. Passing this course qualifies you to become a shot gun shooting merit badge counselor upon NRA Certification.

Prospective instructors are required to pass a pre-course qualification. This includes passing the Basic Rifle Shooting Student Exam, a safe gun handling exercise, Loading and unloading a firearm, Clearing common stoppages, Live Shooting Exercise.

Minimum of 4 Students and a Maximum of 16 students
