“Camp Ta-Ki-Ma – Time Traveler”
100 Years of Scouting
Cub Scout Day Camp
Get into your time machine and travel back to the beginning of Scouting. There you will have the opportunity to try things that Scouts got to do in 1910 or 1940 or even what they may be doing in the future.
Stevens Creek Park – (Cubs & Webelos) June 21 and 22, 9AM – 3 PM
Rinconada Park – June 23-25, 9 AM – 3 PM
What in the world was going on in the early 1900’s? Travel with us through time to the Zulu Wars and find out what inspired Robert Baden-Powell to start Scouting. Hone your skills with the first Scouts on Brownsea Island. Use the skills you just learned to visit the North and South Poles. Build and sink your own Titanic and help us dig the Panama Canal. Assist the Wright brothers and Mr. Ford in making models of the latest modes of transportation. Join us for a week of fun.
This year there will be separate programs for Cub Scouts and Webelos.
Please note: this year we will be at Stevens Creek Park the first two days of Day Camp, so the boys will have the opportunity to do archery. The next three days we will be at Rinconada Park to do swimming and the rest of the program.
SF Archery Club, Pacifica(Cub Scouts) June 21-25 9 AM – 3 PM
Welcome to the Pacific Skyline Council’s Cub Scout Day Camp. Camp Ta-Ki-Ma! This year we honor the 100th Anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America. We will take our Scouts on a journey through time—from the beginnings of Scouting to the present day! Each day will feature a different era in Scouting – from its humble beginnings on Brownsea Island to today’s high tech Scouts--with crafts, games and a host of other activities from each era. There will be traditional activities that have been loved by Scouts for the past 100 years as well as activities that they might continue to enjoy well into our second century. |
Coyote Point-San Mateo (Webelos) July 12 -16 & July 19-23 9 AM – 3 PM
Calling all boys entering fourth and fifth grade! This camp is just for you. Join us for Webelos camp at Coyote Point. Our theme will embrace the vivid history of Scouting. Learn how to communicate with Morse code and find your way using map and compass. There will be archery and other challenging activities just for Webelos scouts. There will be opportunities for fun while still fulfilling many of the activity badge requirements in Traveler, Sportsman, Artist and Outdoorsman. The boys will even learn new skills that they will need as they move into Boy Scouting. In addition there will also be a very special (field trip) just for the older boys to experience different modes of travel.
Coyote Point-San Mateo (Cub Scouts) July 12-16 & July 19-23 9 AM – 3 PM
