Happy teens gardeningSustainable Future Outdoor Academy

Participants will design, build, and get their hands dirty—working in the garden, making electricity, capturing water, and analyzing the creative design of sustainable homes and communities! 

The program incorporates the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

WANTED! Middle and high school students who want to make an impact on the health of our planet. Open to all Bay Area middle and high school programs. SFOA is hosted by Cutter Scout Reservation but is open to all Bay Area schools and is located in the redwood forests of the Santa Cruz Mountains.

  • One of the first camps of its kind focusing on sustainable systems and solutions
  • Program specifically designed for middle school and high school young people
  • All instruction includes hands-on activities focused on key concerns for our planet
  • Free time each day for archery, swimming and canoeing plus hikes in the redwoods
  • Field trip to local farms and fish market to experience Farm-To-Table food chain
  • Campers eligible to become counselors for future sessions on program completion

Accommodations:  Participants will stay in Barebones tents and sleep on Cam-O-Bunk cots.
