Service Opportunities
Honoring Our Community Through Service
Service is at the heart of Scouting. Through volunteer projects, community events, and acts of kindness, Scouts learn the true meaning of leadership and citizenship. These service opportunities give youth and families meaningful ways to help others, honor those who serve, and make a lasting impact in the communities we call home.

Memorial Day Flag Decoration
Golden Gate National Cemetery
May 23, 2026

Come place flags at Golden Gate National Cemetery to pay tribute to the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our country. For over 70 years, Scouts around the country have been helping to honor our country's fallen. It all began in 1949 when Scouts in the Greater St. Louis Council decorated the 190,000 graves at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with miniature US flags. Since then, it has become one of the largest service projects in the country.
