Distinguished Citizens Award Dinner
Our annual recognition gala for community leaders
What is the DCAD?
Established by Scouting America, the Distinguished Citizen Award Dinner recognizes noteworthy and extraordinary leadership of citizens in communities across the United States. Honoring distinguished citizenship delivers a message to our youth that character counts. The lives of distinguished citizens put into place guideposts that serve to inspire our youth to lead, to accept responsibility, and to care about principles and causes beyond self-interest.

Honoring Leadership
Each year, we honor extraordinary leaders in our community who set a positive example for our youth.

Recent honorees include Mike Peterson, Rob Newsom Jr., Steven Wu, Justin Knowles, Judy Kleinberg, Marie Chuang, Bill Graham, Bill Long, Franklin "Pitch" Johnson, and others.
Dinner & Ceremony
Proceeds from this event help all youth be able to participate in Scouting programs, no matter their background, socioeconomic status, or circumstances.

Auction & Fundraising
The DCAD dinner is one of our largest fundraising events of the year. Proceeds from tickets and our live auction help our organization provide quality leadership programs for youth.
